The second half was action packed and more than makes up for the background in the first half. The book was nothing like what I expected after reading the brief intro on the back of the book (was thinking random psychos running around in the night killing people) and I was pleasantly surprised by the multidimensional world and auras. The vignettes in this book were written exclusively during the early morning hours of John’s otherwise relatively uneventful days. Those dark, quiet hours when the normal among us generally sleep, or maybe raise hell until they pass out and then sleep.
